A Tragic Morning That Ended an 88-Year Journey

According to information released by the State Highway Patrol, the heartbreaking incident happened on September 30, 2026, around 10:19 a.m., on NC-168 at Maple Road.

Authorities reported that Josephine was involved in a three-vehicle crash after she apparently experienced a medical episode. Her vehicle, which had stopped on the roadway, subsequently rolled into oncoming traffic.

A southbound vehicle struck Josephine’s car, sending it into the northbound lanes. Moments later, it was struck by a pickup truck.

Despite the devastating circumstances, Josephine did not survive the crash. She was 88 years old—a lifetime filled with experiences, memories, relationships, and moments that can never be replaced.

The collision also left two drivers and a passenger from the other involved vehicles hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
