Police say a man is wanted on a murder charge after two children discovered their mother dead inside an Alliance, Ohio home early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Officers were called at about 7 a.m. Wednesday to a residence in the 300 block of West Ely Street after receiving a report of two children inside the home yelling for help, according to Lt. Christopher McCord.
When officers arrived, they determined the children had found their mother, Ashley Ross, deceased in her bedroom.
Responding officers secured the residence and safely removed the children from the home. Authorities said the children were later reunited with family members who had already arrived at the scene.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and collected evidence with assistance from investigators with the Stark County Coroner’s Office, officials said.
Police identified the suspect as 49-year-old Robert Andre Ross, the victim’s husband. Authorities confirmed that an active warrant for murder has been issued for his arrest.
Investigators said Ross is considered armed and dangerous and believed to be in possession of a firearm.
Officials are urging the public not to approach Ross and warned that anyone who aids or harbors him could face criminal charges.
No additional details regarding the circumstances of Ashley Ross’s death have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
